SOPHIA HAIR ROUTINE

Keeping my hair looking healthy and beautiful can be difficult for me, mostly because I’m always in sun and salt water at the beach. I thought I would share a few of my tips to keeping your hair looking and feeling fresh and tidy during summer, along with a couple of hair styles.

1- If you’re someone like me, heading to the beach for a swim, attempting to avoiding that knotty, salt water hair is almost impossible.

So my first tip would be to make sure you always pack a hair brush and some Moroccan Oil when you’re heading to the beach! Brushing a touch of the oil through your hair when you get out of the water can rid your hair of any knotting and it also stops the salt from dying your hair out.

2- Before starting my day I don’t want to spend a whole lot of time on my hair so I like using a finishing serum, it’s good for making your hair feel silky and protects it from any sort of damage. The one I use was suggested to me by my hairdresser at Edwards and Co but it’s also available online. If you guys would like to check it out click here (Haute Performance Serum)

3- Another thing being in the ocean often does to my hair is make it dehydrated. So I love using hydrating shampoos and conditioners. The one I use in particular is from my hair dressers again (Edwards and Co), click here (Regenerating Shampoo) to see.

4- During summer my hair can be so annoying! When you live in Sydney and the weather can go from 25-40 degrees in one day, having my hair in my face is not okay. So during summer it’s always good to have your hair up to keep you cool. I often do a single plat in my hair, or a half up half down hair style (such as a half up half down top knot style) for around the house or just out and about. As for school I’ll do something along the lines of a low bun with stands coming out at the front or two Dutch braids which are my favourite.

5- My go to hair styles are all really low maintenance, simple styles. I usually have my hair down with a beach wave using some beach spray (shop it here), up in a high pulled back pony tail or in a messy bun. I recommend looking up some cute summer hairstyle tutorials on YouTube, there’s lots of videos on the subject and you’re sure to find something you’ll like!
